FCPA Challenge

How much do you know about the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act? Let’s find out.

To commemorate the FCPA’s 40th year, FCPA Professor is presenting the FCPA Challenge.

Each Thursday during 2018, a question will be posed and the answer will be below the fold.

This week’s question is: this federal trial court judge who left the bench in 2016 is believed to have authored the most FCPA opinions including the only judicial decision to construe the FCPA’s local law affirmative defense.

Answer: Judge Shira Scheindlin (S.D.N.Y) who was assigned the following cases: U.S. v. Bodmer, U.S. v. Bourke (the local law affirmative defense opinion is 582 F.Supp.2d 535) and SEC v. Steffen.
