This recent EY publication states that “the financial services industry has largely avoided major headlines resulting from [FCPA] enforcement activity.”
That is a rather strange statement given that there has been 14 FCPA enforcement actions against companies in the financial services industry over the past 9 years including two companies that have resolved 2 FCPA enforcement actions.
Set forth below are the FCPA enforcement actions against companies in the financial services industry since 2015.
Barclays (2019)
BNY Mellon (2015)
Corficolombiana (2023)
Goldman Sachs (2020)
J&F Investimentos (2020)
JP Morgan (2016)
Legg Mason (2018)
Och-Ziff (2016)
Societe Generale (2018)
World Acceptance (2020)
Two of the above enforcement actions (Goldman Sachs and Och-Ziff) are on the top ten list of largest FCPA settlements of all-time.
