It’s that time of year again – football season.
For most U.S. readers, football season (high school, college, pro) is arguably the most anticipated sports season and one that transforms the weekends of many (not to mention Monday nights and with increasing frequency Thursday nights).
Moreover, what makes football interesting – compared to many other sports – is its highly strategic and consequential games. Think about it, after nearly ever play the whole team huddles to plan the next play often times with direct communication from the coaching staff – most other sports are more fluid – and the strategic decisions are more consequential given that there are only 16 regular season games (compared to 82 games in the NBA regular season and 162 in the MLB regular season).
For Foreign Corrupt Practices Act professionals, understanding football can be not just a professional diversion, but one that also adds professional value. The reason is because understanding what makes a football organization successful can also inform FCPA compliance in a business organization.
In the spirit of the season, my article “How a Successful Football Organization Can Inform FCPA Compliance In a Business Organization” highlights four attributes of a successful football organization that can also elevate FCPA compliance in a business organization.
