This is the 344th and final post of 2019.
Once again, 2019 was an active year in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act space. Each enforcement action was summarized in-depth and in real-time on FCPA Professor and followed by an issues to consider post. FCPA Professor also covered enforcement agency speeches and policy developments and other related issues in a comprehensive and candid matter. All of this takes time, money, and substantial effort.
Yesterday, out-of-the-blue I received the following e-mail from the Chief Compliance Counsel of a major publicly-traded company.
“Prof. Koehler,
I am emailing to see if there is a way that I can pay for a subscription to your site or otherwise financially support in a small way your analysis and commentary outside of the Premium Search Function. I appreciate your analysis, and even if I don’t always agree on your perspective, you always make me think and provide a welcome voice of pragmatism. I must acknowledge that this won’t be a huge amount because this will be coming out of my personal funds, but if I pay for other subscriptions or contributions, it seems like I should do the same for your site as well.”
It was a swell way to end the year.
And yes, if FCPA Professor added value to your practice or business or otherwise enlightened your day in 2019 and caused you to contemplate the issues in a more sophisticated way, there is an ability to support this free public website. (See here).
I look forward to your readership in 2020.
